Research to Practice, Inc. ("Research to Practice," "we," "us," or "our") operates r2practice.com as the central platform layer supporting K12 Safety (together, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy governs how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you access the Services, whether directly through r2practice.com or through K12 Safety.

The Services are designed to provide K-12 schools and districts with tools supporting student safety, including Emergency Operations Plans, Student Safety Plans, student Emergency Action Plans, Emergency Health Plans, and Behavioral Risk Assessments.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information necessary to operate the Services and support student safety, including:

  • Names and contact details of students, staff, and administrators
  • Student health information relevant to Emergency Health Plans and Behavioral Risk Assessments
  • District, school, and facility information entered by administrators
  • Account credentials and usage data associated with your access to the Services

Users are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and relevance of the data they enter into the Services. You warrant that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit any content or personal information you upload.

2. How We Use Your Information

Information collected through the Services is used to:

  • Create, manage, and maintain Emergency Operations Plans, Student Safety Plans, Emergency Action Plans, Emergency Health Plans, and Behavioral Risk Assessments
  • Enable authorized users to upload, enter, access, and read safety-related information within the platform
  • Provide role-based administrative capabilities, allowing administrators to add, edit, and delete information within the system
  • Support product functionality across r2practice.com and K12 Safety

3. Third-Party Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties. Any future changes to this practice will be reflected in an updated version of this Privacy Policy prior to taking effect.

4. Data Security

We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including JSON Web Tokens (JWT) for secure data transmission. While we work to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure, no system can guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Location and International Transfer

All data collected through the Services is processed within the jurisdiction of our operation. We do not engage in international data transfer.

6. Your Rights and Controls

Administrators have the right to add, edit, and delete information within the system on behalf of their district or school. We respect your right to access and control the personal data you or your organization has submitted, subject to applicable law and your organization's internal policies (e.g., FERPA-related recordkeeping obligations).

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform, and we encourage users to review this policy periodically.

This Privacy Policy supersedes the policy previously published at k12safety.org/privacy, for purposes of the shared r2practice.com core platform layer. TherapyLog is not yet integrated into this core layer and is not covered by this document.
